To undertake this training program you must be at least 18 years of age and hold a current Level 3 Referee qualifiication.
This training programs provides the theoretical education for referees who aspire to officiate in matches ranging from junior football to the penultimate senior football in their State, Territory or region.
The course consists of 6-8 hours of classroom-based training including Laws of the Game examinations (written responses, multiple choice and video incidents).
Once the Theory component is completed you may choose to undertake the remaining components to gain the 'full' qualification as a Level 2 Referee. These are undertaken over the course of at least one full season.
These components include practical assessments on senior matches as an assistant referee and referee (a minimum of one match each) as well as creation of a Program Folder which is reviweed by your Member Federation.
This folder is then used as part of gaining the Level 1 Referee qualification.
Please note that Units 1 and 2 of this training program are to be completed as 'home study' prior to your attendance at the course.
Who should do this Course
Any current Level 3 Referee who wants to develop their knowlege and interpretations of the Laws of the Game.
Accreditation is compulsory in accordance with FFA National Registration Regulations.
