Course Description

To undertake this training program you must:

  • be at least 18 years of age; and
  • hold a current Level 2 (Theory) Referee or Level 2 Referee qualifiication; and
  • hold a Level 3 Assessor (or higher) qualification.

This training programs provides the theoretical education for referees who aspire to officiate in matches ranging from junior football to the highest level of senior football in their State, Territory or region and potentially at national level.

All participants must bring a wi-fi capable laptop with Adobe Acrobat Reader available to use as the Participant Manual is now an Adobe PDF form.

Referees must hold a current Level 3 (or higher) Assessor qualification to register for this course.

The course consists of classroom-based training including Laws of the Game examinations (written responses, multiple choice and video incidents).

Once the Theory component is completed you may choose to undertake the practical components over the course of a minimum of one season.  These include practical mentoring of a colleague and practical assessments on NPL matches as a referee (a minimum of two matches).

Who should do this Course

Any referee that holds a current Level 2 Referee qualification who wants to referee at the highest level in their state or potentially at national or international level.

Any referee that holds a current Level 2 (Theory) Referee qualification that simply wants to update their knowlege and gain more experience.

Referees must hold a current Level 3 (or higher) Assessor qualification to register for this course.

Accreditation is compulsory in accordance with FFA National Registration Regulations.
